Crypto.com is returning with another foray. It will now be entering the world of sports betting. FIFA has announced that they have selected the network as the official sponsor of the 2022 World Cup. On March 22, the company issued a press statement announcing the news.

As of currently, no compensation has been provided. This sponsorship agreement will undoubtedly give Crypto.com a significant boost in brand awareness.

Qatar will host the World Cup this year. It will also kick off on November 21 at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor. Around 3.5 billion people watch the FIFA World Cup. This makes it one of the largest agreements that the trading platform has achieved in the world of sports.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup’s Impact

According to the press release, Crypto.com will be the sole cryptocurrency trading platform sponsor of Qatar 2022. In addition, it will be benefitting from enormous branding publicity both within and outside the tournament’s stadiums.

Throughout the Football tournament, the deal featured significant coverage. The coverage will be from both inside and outside the stadium. Aside from that, the exchange platform will give both new and existing customers the opportunity to attend the match and win amazing prizes.

FIFA’s chief commercial officer, Kay Madati, noted that Crypto.com has been particularly active in the sports industry. As a result, the exchange platform was an excellent choice as an official sponsor for the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Kay stated that there is no platform bigger, or with a broader reach and cultural impact, than FIFA’s worldwide platform of football. He continued by saying that there is no venue bigger, or with a broader reach and cultural influence, than FIFA’s global football platform. This comment demonstrates how FIFA’s global influence would have a significant impact on the crypto exchange platform.

Crypto.com is Not Alone in the Sports Field

The announcement came only months after the platform announced it will take over as the primary sponsor of the downtown Los Angeles Arena from Staples. Apart from the agreements and collaborations stated above, Crypto.com has also worked with FTX.

FTX is a crypto-asset exchange platform. Through sponsorships, it has also entered the world of sports. Organizations involved in motorsport, MMA, basketball, and ice hockey, as well as football, are among Crypto.com’s other relationships.

Last year, the exchange was also able to reach an agreement with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. This isn’t the platform’s first foray into football; last year, it formed a deal with Angel City Football Club. Overall, these numerous relationships in the sports sector will undoubtedly increase crypto acceptance and awareness.
